"We
love living in our vertical neighborhood at The Loraine.
So much so that as our needs have changed, so has our
unit. The building is beautiful and has such a special
place in Madison history."
- Marilyn & Dan
"What
do I like most about living at the Loraine? It's a
toss up -- being able to listen to the concerts on
the square from across the street; having a head start
on the Farmers market; being able to walk to the lake;
the fun of State Street; the proximity to the theatre
and library; the multitude of restaurants within easy
walking distance; being able to go to Barriques for
soup or whatever, from the "inside," without
having to slip and slide outside in the winter time,
and the friendly but non-intrusive residents." -Nan
Zion
"I
think that it's the character and charm that sets The
Loraine apart from other recent and ongoing condo projects.
Given the building’s history, the development
team did a remarkable job of keeping the tradition
and class of the hotel while making the building as
inviting as a home. You also can't beat the convenience
of the location to everything that downtown has to
offer." -David Schweidel
"We chose the Loraine
for the various reasons:
1) The building is majestic, not another one around
quite like it. It shows pride in its restoration and
it reminds us of a good solid old imposing building
in New York. It definitely has presence.
2) Location. We are in the thick of downtown living.
In the winter we can easily walk anywhere we please
without having to deal too much with the weather and
during the summer being near the Square with Farmers
Market, Concerts on the Square, the performing arts,
lakes, bicycling and other events just makes it for
us.
3) And to top it off, we have the great advantage of
having a coffee-wine- food place without having to
get out of our slippers. It really works for us."
-Hernan & Sandy Martinez

"Caring for the herb garden in the Crystal Courtyard
is fun. I love being able to provide fresh herbs for
my neighbors". -Dorothy
"We
enjoy making our second home at the Loraine. We love
the location as well as the character and history of
the building. We especially like having the coffee/wine
shop right down stairs. And the fact that this space
used to be Gov. Doyle's old office is the icing on
the cake!" -Doug & Vicki Johnson
"I chose The Loraine as my home due to the wonderful
heritage of the building, the location and the design
of the living units. The staff at The Loraine is extremely
friendly and helpful with any matter that you might
have. I am extremely pleased to call The Loraine my
home."
-Ernesto Ramirez
"The
Loraine is so handy to everything downtown. We like
its history and think the restoration is beautiful.
There's a variety of interests and ages among the residents
that gives the place a good energy." -The
