"We looked
at a number of condos downtown Madison, but only the
Loraine was a perfect fit for us. The location is ideal
and we love living in a historic building. We enjoy
our elegant lobby, first floor access to Barriques
Coffee and our attractive Crystal Courtyard for grilling
out and socializing. Our most pleasant surprise, however,
has been the sense of community at the Loraine. We
enjoy our neighbors and have made many new friends."

"What do I like most about living at the Loraine? It's a toss up -- being
able to listen to the concerts on the square from across the street; having a head
start on the Farmers market; being able to walk to
the lake; the fun of State Street; the proximity to the
theatre and library; the multitude of restaurants within
easy walking distance; being able to go to Barriques
for soup or whatever, from the "inside," without
having to slip and slide outside in the winter time, and
the friendly but non-intrusive residents." -Nan Zion
"I think that it's the character and
charm that sets The Loraine apart from other recent
and ongoing condo projects. Given the building’s
history, the development team did a remarkable job
of keeping the tradition and class of the hotel while
making the building as inviting as a home. You also
can't beat the convenience of the location to everything
that downtown has to offer." -David Schweidel
"We chose the Loraine for the various reasons:
1) The building is majestic, not another one around quite like it.
It shows pride in its restoration and it reminds us
of a good solid old imposing building in New York.
It definitely has presence.
2) Location. We are in
the thick of downtown living. In the winter we can
easily walk anywhere we please without having to deal
too much with the weather and during the summer being
near the Square with Farmers Market, Concerts on the
Square, the performing arts, lakes, bicycling and other
events just makes it for us.
3) And to top it off,
we have the great advantage of having a coffee-wine-
food place without having to get out of our slippers.
It really works for us."

"I'm definitely a fan of the Loraine. Here's a few of
my thoughts:
We chose the Loraine, after surveying
all of the newer condominium projects downtown, on
the basis of quality of construction and the treatment
we received from the sales staff. And the excellent
treatment didn't stop once we committed to purchasing
a unit. The development team seemed eager to please
us and to get each detail of our new home just right.
The workmanship demonstrated by Key Construction has
been excellent. Tom Geier and Dennis Grosse take obvious
pride in the property, and have treated us more like
neighbors than like customers. They and their staff
take our concerns seriously and have always responded
to us promptly and fairly.
The building is beautiful
and has great historic charm. We expect the building
to retain top value because of its uniqueness among
the downtown condominium properties. We love the downtown
location; there are so many attractions on the Isthmus,
and living on the Square means it's easier to take
advantage of the recreational and cultural events.
Concerts on the Square, the Farmers Market, events
at the Overture are more enjoyable when we can just
step out the front door and be there.
We've been able
to adopt a pedestrian lifestyle and leave the car parked
for most of every week. And, of course, we have wonderful
neighbors in the building. The group is turning into
a true community."
-John Scherpelz

"We love living at The Loraine. Having Barriques in the building is
great! Plus the quality of the construction, the convenience of the
location & classic style really set the building apart."
-Chet & Melissa

"Caring for the herb garden in the Crystal Courtyard is fun. I love being able to provide fresh herbs for my neighbors". -Dorothy
"Splitting time between Atlanta and Madison can be hectic. Life at The Loraine makes it well worth while. Living in a historic building with modern amenities is fantastic.
In addition, I love visiting the businesses in the building. For example, the staff at Union Federal Savings and Loan greets me by name and always makes me feel welcome when handling my financial transactions. I even have my safe deposit box at Union Federal. It couldn't be easier!"
-Barb Helmer
"We enjoy making our second home at the Loraine. We love the location as well as the character and history of the building. We especially like having the coffee/wine shop right down stairs. And the fact that this space used to be Gov. Doyle's old office is the icing on the cake!" -Doug & Vicki Johnson
"I chose The Loraine as my home due to the wonderful heritage of the
building, the location and the design of the living units. The staff at The Loraine is extremely friendly and helpful with any matter that you
might have. I am extremely pleased to call The Loraine my home."
-Ernesto Ramirez
"The Loraine is so handy to everything downtown. We like its history and think the restoration is beautiful. There's a variety of interests and ages among the residents that gives the place a good energy." -The Weirs
